An OBD scanner is an electronic tool used to interface with a vehicle’s On-Board Diagnostics (OBD) system to read diagnostic information.

How an OBD Scanner Works
* Connection: The scanner is plugged into the vehicle’s OBD-II port, which is a standardized 16-pin connector usually located under the dashboard near the driver’s side.
* Communication: The scanner communicates with the vehicle’s Electronic Control Unit (ECU)—the car’s main computer—which constantly monitors data from various sensors (e.g., engine temperature, oxygen levels, vehicle speed).
