Royal Enfield transitioned to Euro 5 compliant OBD systems with their J-series engines (found in the Meteor 350, Classic 350, and Hunter 350). When the check engine light pops up, connecting a scanner via the Royal Enfield 6-pin diagnostic cable reveals specific codes. Let’s look at the most common codes and what they mean.

Code P0107 / P0108: Manifold Absolute Pressure (MAP) Sensor

This code points to the MAP sensor, which measures intake pressure. A dirty sensor or loose connector will trigger this, causing poor idling, engine stalling, and black exhaust smoke.

Code P0113: Intake Air Temperature (IAT) Sensor

The IAT sensor tells the ECU how cold or warm the incoming air is. If this sensor fails, the ECU cannot calculate the correct air-fuel mixture, leading to hard starts in the morning.
